Michel and Sharron have combined ivory painted cabinetry with warm granite colours to stunning effect.

Cabinetry - Ivory Painted solid oak from the Astor range at the Perth Design Studio creates a great sense of space and light.

Worktops - Solid Baltic Brown granite adds warmth to the Ivory colour of the kitchen furniture.

Flooring - Karndean wood plank effect with decorative border.

Lighting - Pure white florescent under wall unit lights coupled with low voltage down lights in the ceiling and chimney breast provide good practical lighting.

Few would argue that 2009 was a busy year for Michel and Sharron McLaren. In the space of a few months the couple got married, finished a complete refurbishment of their farmhouse while still managing their day jobs. Also as if this wasn’t enough the couple were working on finding a replacement kitchen. After a while of not really finding what they were exactly looking for Sharron while on route to work one day seen a sign for the Perth Design Studio and decided to pay them a visit and found what the couple were looking for and some days later returned with Michel who then made an appointment for us to pop out to site and take existing measurements.

The first couple of draft plans explored different layouts at one point using a centre island providing preparation space and seating. This was quickly ruled out in favour of a table and chairs to provide more flexibility and after some design tweaks a final plan was agreed.

Six weeks later the whole kitchen was delivered and checked by a member of staff from Perth Design Studio ready for the installation to go ahead. Now that the kitchen is complete the months of upheaval were definitely worth it. We went for what we wanted and with the design input and management of the Perth Design Studio it really is fantastic.
